My son (which is much older) also has epilepsy and is also on depakote, he is also tired alot on the med but the alternatives were much worse, we tryed I think 5 meds before switching to depakote and they all had horrible side effects. but it may take a few changes in meds to find the one that works for your little one.
My advice is set an alarm and give the meds at the same time every time, that keeps the med levels level. I have also found that alot of times if my son is seizig that we can clap our hand really loudly and some times it will bring him out of it, but not always.
