i'd still ask for an evaluation. for LOTS of reasons. we were referred to a geneticist twice. both tested for genetic diseases. the first one also evaluated for fas/fae especially bc ds has lowset ears...which i guess is an indicator. but alas, decided he was not fas/fae...the second one agreed. i'd start at the pedi and ask to see a geneticist, or whoever they would like to refer you to for an eval. the thing is, even if he is "fine" now...this is something you want diagnosed now so they can be watching him. dr should give you a referral, if not, call your child's assigned public health nurse in your county and ask for assistance. if you bug enough people, you may get what you need.
