I was told the same thing by the social worker...there is no way that they will approve the great aunt. (they don't have a bond and there are other issues as well)...well judge ruled that she gets a homestudy and that we are compared "apples to apples" Needless to say we are still waiting for the children to be placed with us. It has been 4months and we had to hire an attorney. Oh and the parents picked us to adopt the children AND BOTH signed our names in the Consent to Adopt form! Great Aunts attorney is saying that because they signed the TPR that the Consent to Adopt for is null because "technically" the state has custody. There are so many legalities and loop holes. I'll pray for your family and understand where you are coming from. I just think that in the end all the games hurt the children. Keep your spirits high
