Then She Found Me
I saw the trailer recently and the film looks pretty lame and full of stereotypes. Here's the overview from my local cinema:
Then She Found Me is a romantic drama produced by Christine Vachon's Killer Films and with a great cast comprising of Helen Hunt, Colin Firth, Bette Midler and Matthew Broderick.
Then She Found Me is a very funny and very moving story about a woman in the midst of a unique mid-life crisis. April Epner (Hunt) is thirty-nine years old and her biological clock is ticking very loudly. But her world is turned upside down when, in quick succession, her husband (Matthew Broderick) wants a divorce, her adoptive mother dies and her real mother, an overbearing talk-show host (Bette Midler) materializes.
Devastated on the one hand and bewildered on the other, April finds solace from her rapidly unravelling life in a growing relationship with Frank (Colin Firth), a handsome, warm, very English, suddenly-single dad whose wife recently left him and their children.
The film is based on the 1990 novel written by Elinor Lipman.
