In my county,they do nto give you the application until you are half way through the classes, so that takes the time. They did say it was 6 months from the time of application to licensing, but they said that when I was licensed as an adoptive parent and they ended up coming out and doing a followup homstudy visit because the completed home study sat on the former superviors desk from Dec2005-June2006 with no one looking at it.
I am cautiously optimistic that this time it might go faster, but I am not holding my breath. The nice thing about where I live is there are 3 counties I can go to to take the classes and they all coount for my licensing county. So if I need to hurry up and take the classes, I can work it out.
