"I want to search" vs. "I want a biological child."

Many times, I've said, "I love my adoptive parents, but I want to search for my biological parents. One has nothing to do with the other."

Is this basically the same thing as an adoptive parent saying, "I love the kids I adopted, but I wish I had a biological child. One has nothing to do with the other." ?

I haven't been so understanding of that second statement, but should I be? Is it the same or similar to what I've been saying?

I'd love input from both adoptees and adoptive parents on this.
