We had a convertor and adapator, but not a surge protector.

I highly suggesting gettign a surge protector.

We fried our laptop when my husband plugged in the cell phone charger and did not use the convertor/adapotr, which ever one bumps down the voltage. Not only did it fry the cell phone charger, but it also sent a surge through the apt and fried the laptop.
