I found out last summer about a (possible) biological sibling and my friends can't understand why I woudn't look for them. If I search, I'd want to find bmom first. I have no good reason why, that's just they way I look at it. Maybe your brother feels the same and he was expecting to tackle that relationship first.
I hope he comes around!
