Morning all! Thought I'd chime in here. Katie's gone through a bunch of different phases with TV shows. Sesame Street was really big for a while, then Dora, then Diego. Jack's Big Music Show has been a perennial favorite. Right now she's into Zaboomafoo because she absolutely loves animals. We have DirecTv with DVR and usually keep about a dozen episodes of her favorite of the moment. We usually limit her to a max of 2 hours per day.

A couple of weeks ago something very weird happened. I was cruising through the channels to get to the XM Radio music channel that we usually listen to and I just happen to stop for a second on one of the birthing shows on Discovery Health. They just showed a delivery by C section and when I moved off the channel, Katie kept telling me to go back. So I did and she watched the rest of the show in total fascination. She kept asking to watch the "baby shows". She only liked shows that showed the babies being born. When the babies came out and they were covered in the birthing goo Katie would say "Ed-dad, that baby needs a bath". It was hilarious! So for about 2 weeks we watched Discovery Health Channel at 2pm so she could watch her "baby shows". One interesting side note to this is that it opened up a discussion with her about adoption and her birthmom. She now knows that babies grow in their mommies tummies and that she did not grow in Mommy's tummy but grew in K's tummy. I think that's pretty advanced for a 2 1/2 year old. We did have an embarassing side effect of this though. We were at Sam's club the other day and next to us in line was a woman who was on the heavy side and carried most of it in her torso. Katie pointed to her belly and asked me "Ed-dad, is there a baby in there?" I wanted to die. Luckily the lady was pretty cool about it.
