My cousin's 13 year old daughter was 7 1/2-8 months pregnant when she told her family she was pregnant. She told them just before her aunt was to be married. Yep, the morning of the wedding. No one had a clue! She had her 14th birthday a few weeks before having he son.
It is horrific what has happened to this baby. But is sad that girls feel that they can't trust their family, counselors or anyone to support them. This happens more often than is publized. We had it happen at our college about a year or two ago. The mother was 19. So much pressure had been put upon her to excell, to be a good girl, to be the success in the family. She was scared to disappoint her family. Sometimes our encouragement and pride in our children puts pressure on them that we don't realize.
