I discovered I was adopted when I was 36, that was 17 years ago. I began reaching out to other Late Discovery Adoptees back in 1995, when I got my first computer, and have communicated with over a thousand LDAs since then. I have a website, Late Discovery - Home, and a yahoogroups email list, the Late Discovery email list, for folks who found out when they were adults (and also birthmothers and fathers who search and find their sons and daughters were never told of their adoption.

It's a hard place at first, but it gets better.

Anyone who has been adopted and found out on accident, or parents who are not sure how to tell their kids I would encourage you to visit the site. I need help spreading the word.
