The word punishment may not be my first choice, but I certainly did not find it offensive. I can't think of any situation where I would wish a 14 year old child to be pregnant. While I think a child is ALWAYS a blessing, the circumstances surrounding the birth aren't always.
I wasn't offended at all, and my bmom was 14 when I was conceived. I have a feeling the word punishment may have rolled through her head once or twice.
