Hi

My suggestion is to contact the Catholic Charities agency where your adoption took place. Ask them what post adoption services they offer. They may be able to provide you with non-identifying information from your file, and or offer a private investigator to conduct a search on your behalf. If your birth parent wishes for contact, they will help you make contact

That's how I found my BMom.

Also, remember that back in 1973 (when I was also born), most birthparents were told not to search, that it was wrong for them to look for their children. Or, they feel it should be left up to you to look for them, when you're ready to find them. Do not assume that because no one has actively searched you out, you aren't loved or remembered. I have also heard anecdotally that some Catholic Charities agencies do not allow birth parent searches - they must initiated by the adult adoptee. I don't know for certain that is true, but it's food for thought.

I hope that helps. My BMom didn't look for me either, but she was sure happy when I found her!

Good luck!
