If I were you, I would start off by contacting the post-adoptions caseworker at the San Diego Children's Home Society. The last I heard, they were still in business. (I'm a native San Diegan.) If by some chance, they are no longer in business, I would contact the post-adoptions division of San Diego County Adoptions (part of the county's Health and Human Services Agency).
