Adopting internationally
Hello,
I'm Catholic, my husband is not. We have a five year old daughter in Catholic preschool now, and she is enrolled there for kindergarten. It is tough to decide what to do for first grade, as our public school has just built a new building opening next year. One year at a time.
I was raised in the Catholic school system. Is it the best, probably not. Does it teach morality, religion, respect, etc. - you'd better believe it. I try to decide what is more important. Did I suffer because my grammar schools didn't have the same equipment/opportunities at the public schools? Maybe a little. But when trouble arises, I am a grounded person because of my faith. School didn't teach me everything, my parents and home environment did too. But, I do feel the religion you learn in the Catholic school system is far superior to CCD. Most children in CCD have barely seen a church. Trust me I'm not the perfect Catholic, I have no room to criticize anyone.
Anyways, we are waiting for a referral from Poland. We have had our paperwork in for six months now. We are hoping for a little boy 3-4 years old.
The waiting seems like forever!!!!
I just know I want our son-to-be to know there is a God and he is here to help us! Prayer is powerful and can be quite comforting.
Good luck to all of you in your journeys!
