Definitely go. Our family has such fond memories. We went last year at this time. It felt wonderful to walk around in the warm after being cooped up in our house all winter. Now for the details:
It was $7 admission - not per person, but for our entire family of five. Bring quetzales.
Bring your own sunscreen - we could not find any for sale - guess they don't need it there.
There are several kiosks serving lunch fare- we chose the Pollo Campanero, which was great.
An umbroller stroller is perfect. Your cab driver will load and unload it for you. Ours also returned in a few hour to drive us back to the hotel.
Check out the "American deer," "American squirrel" and "American raccoon." We got a kick out of that.
Our favorite animal was the howler monkey.
Our other favorite part was seeing all the schoolchildren on field trips, dressed in miniature versions of Mayan clothing.
