Adoptions from the USA
My wife and I are hoping to adopt from the US. I hold an American passport, my wife holds a British passport and we are domiciled in the UK. We attended an intercountry adoption seminar today and were informed that the US may well be closed to intercountry adoption from the UK as of the 1st April 2008.

Does anyone have any information that would clarify the situation? The State Department and US Immigration web sites do not have any clear information, nor the relevant UK government web sites.
