My wife and I have decide to pursue an international adoption. Because I spent some time in Budapest several years ago, teaching on a Fulbright (and loving the culture & people), we are both very interested in a Hungarian adoption. However, I realize that Hungary isn't exactly a hot spot for adoptions. What happened? Six years ago Hungary was in the top 20 for international adoptions; two years ago there were six adoptions! In hours of cruising the Web looking for agencies that have programs in Hungary, I located pretty much only two, and after contacting them & hearing no response, I have to wonder if any agency has a viable program.

Does anyone know of any contacts in Hungary that I could pursue? I have a Jesuit friend in the country who is looking into it, but otherwise we've hit a dead end.
