adoption and antidepressant medications

Just wanted to get some input as to how common this situation is. My husband and I tried to begin an adoption internationally from Ecuador. A home study was the first thing that needed to be done, before anything else. We got the home study completed, but it had to be included in it that I am in treatment for depression, both with supportive therapy and medication. I am fully functional in everyday life, I have a job that I love and take care of both home and hubby. I've never been hospitalized for this condition. The social worker who wrote up our home study did an excellent job of putting everything in a positive light. I found out this past week that our home study was rejected by the government of Ecuador, because of my medication issue. I'm totally heartbroken; are all foreign countries like this? Which countries would be more open to such a situation? Thanks for any input.
