Isn't it funny how to those of us who were told we were adopted, the amended birth certificate seems like a commonplace thing. When my husband saw my birth certificate, he was surprised to see my adopted parents' names on it. He thought the adoption document would be marked as such.

The only way you can tell that I'm adopted by my birth certificate is the fact that it was issued in October 1982. It even has the date of the original record on it, February 23, 1982 (three days after my birth). The adoption date only shows in the issued stamp.
