Please correct me if I'm wrong here...
Parenting a child doesn't end at 18. I think going into reunion and suddenly helping your birthchild because the parent who raised them wants to walk away from any parental responsibilities is a very stressful situation.
I really don't think the OP was trying to be offensive. I think she is taking a lot on right now and she was looking for some help from those who have been there.
