It was ugly, and it was mostly done in a passive aggressive way. I think that a lot of inter family adoptions end up that way, and I hate to admit this, but it's one family dumping their child (or children, I have a brother and sister that are twins that were also adopted out) onto a relative that feels responsible, in my case it was an uncle that was close to his sister.
It's just my opinion, and one that is biased, but we all learn from these things, I suppose.
