I thought your boys sounded older; they seem to be able to do much more than my son can. He's starting to tell me when his diaper has poop and wants to be changed, but he's still wet after naps and can't dress himself. I'm hoping we can start sometime this fall, but we'll see. I made the mistake of pushing my daughter when she first starting taking an interest and then it took 6 months of frustration, before she MADE UP HER MIND to do it. It was like a lightbulb turned on over her head. After beating my head against the wall for months, she decided (on the plane home from vacation LOL) that she wanted to use the toilet and that was it. She was trained within the next few days. So I've decided to not push my son until he's more ready, but I tell you I'm ready!
Thanks for all the tips; I'm sure I'll use some of them when we get there.
Liz
