This is my first time posting here.
I found out that i was adopted when i was 16 years old.
From birth till then i was told that i was half Fillipino and half Caucasion. My mom was Fillipino and my dad white. I have a brother also that in the end i found out was adopted too.
I was told by my step-mom in a very spiteful way. You see my mom (adoptive) died 3 days after my 15th birthday of cancer.
Soon after my dad remarried. She didn't like me much, she also is Fillipino. There is so much more to this story but i will spare you all the horride details.
Up until my mom's death i had a wonderful childhood.
Needless to say i went into shock for what i'm told is 3 days. I don't remember much after the point that i confirmed what she told me was true.
It took me many years to come to terms with this and at the age of 31 i started a search. I'm now 33, soon to be 34 in March.
I have found my Bio- father and established a good relationship with him and my new bio sibblings and extened family. I found out that i'm Irish.
I'm still searching for my bio mother, i have been told that she is over seas. Her name is "Donna" and she was born in February 1942-43?
My advice to any one that is thinking of adopting..... Please don't hold it a secret. Secrets hurt more then the truth. I love my dad with all my heart but i can never forget the hidden truths about who and what i am.
Be true to your children and they in turn will be true to you.
