The first step is to get with the local agency and start the training process. Get your paperwork in order and hang in there. It is a long road, but very rewarding. If you feel the urge to start the process, go with your feelings. UMFS is a great agency, and can provide all the resources you will need. We made the mistake of looking first, then starting the process. I would suggest talking with the agency and start the ball rolling.
