Step Parent Adoption Questions-

My daughter's bio dad has decided that he wants to allow my husband to adopt her. She is four years old and he has seen her all of five times. He says his attorney can take care of everything, all I have to do is go to his attorney and file {he is paying for the whole thing} I just want to know if that is correct? Can I file ? what do I file for? {i've heard he has to terminate his rights first? is that right or can it be done as part of the adoption} How long does it take after we file? What do we have to write as far as autobiographical statements? What is involved in the home study? {that's one of my major worries, as our apartment is on the second floor, and only 750 sq ft. in size, though my daughters do share the larger bedroom, and it's hard to keep it totaly clean at all times} I know I've got a lot of questions, but I really want to know as much as I can. I printed out the adoption code from Access Indiana, but I dont' know if I'm reading it right or not, and all of the other stuff like homestudy and biography statements, I've not found in it yet...
