Processing your visa in New Delhi

Hi, JenRebekah. My understanding is that you have guardianship of your son and your case is at the US consulate in New Delhi for the issuing of his visa. The time from guardianship to travel is often hardest part of the wait for us as parents, but thankfully, unless there are consular problems in New Delhi, this is also the shortest part of the wait, as well. We processed our visa (I-600) "stateside," i.e. at the INS office having jurisdiction in our area, instead of at New Delhi, but if your INS office is s-l-o-o-w, you may have made a good choice in having your I-600 processed in India. Either way, you should be bringing your child home soon. Our process from guardianship to travel took from 4/29/02 (the date on our court decree) to 7/5/02 this time around. Where are you from, and have you gotten any further information on your son's visa since your last post?
