I knew I'd adopt from very early on...maybe as young as elementary school. I grew up knowing several people who were adopted and it appealed to me. If I had been married (I'm not), or if I'd had bio kids (I don't)...I still would have adopted, it's in my heart.
But now, as a single...adoption was just the right way for me to go. I wasn't comfy going the donor/ai route, especially since adoption was already in my heart anyway. Then I took a trip to Russia in 2004 and that kick started the initial steps.
Now I'm getting ready to start the process again this winter and right now I think I'm heading to Russia to complete my little family.
