On another thread (Birthparent: Holidays), IrishEyes made this comment:
"Just as a side note...on my birthday last year, I sent my bmom flowers. That really put her over the edge (in a good way)!"
My bson and I found each other this January, and for his birthday in March he sent me a photo album he put together with pictures from when he was five days old to just the month prior -- it was such a wonderful gift for me to have on his birthday, after waiting decades to find him.
My daughter, whom I raised, acknowledges her birthday by acknowledging me, and sending me a "Happy Birthing Day" card, sometimes with flowers. When my own mother was still alive, I used to go to her house and plant a rose bush on my birthday to honor her.
I'm just wondering, is this sort of thing unique to a few, or do others out there celebrate their own birthdays by acknowledging their moms in some way?
Peace,
Susan
