I started by registering my information a little over a year ago, then after a few months I became a little more proactive in my search (first I'd thought let him find me, you know).
I ended up using the social services agency that I placed him in. I figured they weren't going to rip me off, plus they already had his adopted name etc!
Anyway, she found him fairly quickly, got a first response of 'he doesn't know if he wants contact at this time, he's starting his semester at college etc etc.' Anyway, after Christmas was over and knowing I was going to go to the USA in May (I live in Sweden now), I said 'can't we try again?' this time she got him (turns out it was amom who had stopped contact the first time) and that he DID want to find me, he IS interested in contact, and I've been flying ever since.
February 26th was the first contact.
Phew.
Talk about long stories short!
