Your heart hurts for this boy because you are a caring person who wants to help kids like him. However, your first responsibility is to your 3 year old. DO NOT feel guilty for that! Hurt children are sometimes dangerous. A very sad fact, but a reality. Possibly, if you did not have a young child in your home, you could consider fostering older children with unstable histories. But you do, and so you are TOTALLY right to set limits on the ages and behaviors you are willing to expose your little one to or deal with yourself. Keep that caring heart, and stay firm on your parameters. There will be other children. And sadly, no, we can't save them all. You do what you can. I wish there were more of you out there.
