How specific were your requests for a referral?

I've read a lot of posts dealing with the question of what ages were requested, what sort of medical issues, etc...but what about the more specific, seemingly "superficial" requests?

We've just started compiling our dossier and are coming across those questions that ask if we have a preference for hair color, eye color, etc. I'm finding that we're simultaneously intrigued and put off by the idea...we're charmed by the idea of a little redheaded spitting image of his daddy, but then there's the uneasy, nagging feeling that we'd be "special ordering" a child to our specifications that doesn't quite sit well either.

So my question is, did you make any special requests? Were those requests honored? Would you have done anything differently?
