Welcome to the E-pal forum!!

It is good to hear adoptees take on this subject (when they were told they were adopted). Our daughter is only 3 years old, but adoption is a regular word around this house! She knows she is adopted (as much as she understands) and it is acceptable for others to use that word around her. I think it is funny when people spell out the word "adopted" to me like it is a secret. My daughter is also a different race than the rest of the family, so it is evident everywhere she goes. We celebrate her uniqueness and tell her how beautiful she is. Her older siblings love her like crazy, and it has been an amazingly smooth transition so far.

I had an aquaintance say recently that he loved talking about being adopted. He said he liked being different in that way! We should all feel confident in who we are! It sounds like you are the same way! Thanks for being so positive in your post!

Blessings to you!
