As you can tell from my name's subtitle, I am very familiar with Nahodka. My little girl also came from the same baby hospital.
Dr. A & Dr. L as well as the workers really do seem care about the children. The ride between Vladivostok & Nahodka really isn't that bad until the 3rd or 4th trip, when it isn't as exciting any more (or when you travel from Nahodka to Vladivostok then back & forth a 2nd time on the same day!).
As far as "hearing" about Nahodka, it is actually quite full of history even though it is only about 50 years old!
I wish you a quick return trip to bring another Nahodka child home.
