Hey, thanks for reposting. We have a 7 1/2 yo bio son, and we have secondary infertility. About a year into treatments I turned to my husband and said, "I think we hit the genetic jackpot (yes, I am little biased about my son), why don't we adopt...". He said NO WAY. I would bring it up ever few months, same response. Well, after 2 ivfs and lots of our friends being pregnant with their 3rd and 4th child (oh, and my husband's boss has 4 children adopted from Russia, and the oldest is my son's soulmate!)... Let's adopt, from Russia, and I want a girl. Well, its been almost 2 years since that proclamation.. quite a roller coaster, lots of grieving for me, and then lots of waiting.
We were recently in Russia to meet a blind referral, that we, unfortunately, had to turn down. My son was distraught. So, we are proceeding and he is excited... however, I don't think he really understands how different it will be when she (or he... that changed after our last trip!) comes home!
