My son is the youngest of my 4 bio children. He is no baby, but we were to never adopt he would remain forever "the baby"
HOW do I know this??? My husband is 40 years old, he is "The Baby" of 8 children. His father just passed away Saturday, During the services for his father, if I was introduced once, I was introduced 100 times ...
"this is Jamie, Richards wife..."
"Which one is Richard?"
"He is the baby"
"OHH!!" *hugs, kisses*
or
"This is Jamie, my Baby Brothers wife...."
It helped keep my spirits up, I tried to change it.....
"Hello dear, I'm auntie so and so, who are you?"
"I am Jamie, I am married to Richard, Jim's Youngest's wife"
"Oh you married the baby!!" *hugs, kisses*
ROFL!! so as you see, the youngest is forever the BABY!! LOL
My husband has 2 children 18 and 17 that we very rarely see. So our son is SOOOO the BABY!!!
He is a drama KING! from having 3 olders sisters to boot.
I open for input,
We are planning on adopting a young man, to fall into the "baby" spot. I would like to hear how this has effected others, etc. It's less common to be knocked down the order, for older children. But to loose the baby status isn't abnormal at all. Usually it's by a baby, but for us will be an established little person instead. I have no doubt, my son at the stage of life he is in will benefit more from having a younger sibling.
In so many ways. My girls go to visit their dad for visitations, so being left behind, and alone. This is viciously hard on our son. When we talked about this choice for our lives, he had 1 request, and 1 question.
1 can it please be a boy? I would just like someone to play cars with, I'm sick of pantys, bras and nail polish.
2. Will we have to share them with anyone??
The same time, the "baby" is the one that usually tends to get the most "attention" and that's good, because usually these kids need to be the youngest and in need of a lot of attention. My son is 7, and really isn't into being "babied" anymore, for lack of a way to say it, he is just one of the gang.
So, again, I toss this out for input...
