My workers and I do have a great relationship. My girls caseworker is the intake person at the agency. She had been calling us at least once a week with different placements they had. I was turning them down - some didn't seem like the right fit and others were way outside our parameters. (I have always told them to call and offer anything b/c hey, you never know, we may say yes). Then she left for maternity leave 2 weeks ago. It has been silent since, so I talked to the person who took on her duties (who I worked with on our first placement and knows us well). She told me that for some reason they were "very slow". They did not have many placements in the past 3 weeks and right now have more families than kids - which they said is not the norm for them since they work with 5 or 6 counties.
She said not to worry, we're on the call list, she loves working with us and she's happy to receive email and voicemail reminders weekly

. My advice is to NOT SIT QUIETLY. Definitely call, email, leave messages, etc reminding people that you are ready, willing and able.
Hopefully you all will hear something soon!
