kid gone nuts

S has been being a royal pain for the last week. I don't think he's hearing well again and has an appointment to get rechecked tomorrow.

He's getting in trouble equally at home and at school and for the most part, intentionally.

Today he brought a note home from school that he'd been bad all week. He's been eating handfuls of candy and gum and lying about where they came from.(must have stole them-we don't have those things here) He took a kitchen knife to school with and apple earlier this week and was mad at me one morning and walked to school instead of getting on the bus. I figured he probably needed to cool down anyway. He was sent to the recovery room where he refused to let the adult be in charge. He's suppose to spend tomorrow in the office(If we aren't at the hearing clinic all day) and they are considering not taking him on the 4th grade trip to the capital(which he's talked about all year long)

I sent him to his room to do his homework. He's too quiet. I go in there and he's stripped his bed, emptied his dresser and closets and pulled all the furniture into the center of the room. His explanation? "I'm rearranging the furniture)

This is abnormal behavior for this kid and he is not responding to choices, redirection, anything.

What is with this crazy behavior!?!
