I hear all of you! Our situation is similar, we don't have the medical issues, but we are both 51,and age is very difficult to change! We are already DTC, but have concerns about getting rejected because of the May 1st restriction on age. By the time we hit the review and matching rooms the "New" rules could be a year old...at least! Will they have the mind set to match us with a child??

We've been to China, accompanying our daughters family to adopt our granddaughter (2 years ago) It is her inspiration that keeps us going. She is so precious. The group of parents we travelled with in China included an older couple adopting a 3 year old, she has blossomed here and is so lucky! Their experience encouraged us as well. It was a huge leap to convince ourselves, that with 2 bio kids in their 30s, we could do it again! When we made the leap, a month later the CCAA announced the new age restriction. Even before the announcement I was driving my DH crazy with appointments (I'm the humming bird of the family, he is the laid back kind), but he was sure glad we were well on our way when we got the news from our agency! Anyway, we did our legwork and got the DTC well before the May 1st deadline, but you can't help but worry.

If each of us can manage to bring home one of these deserving children it will be worth all the stress and strife. Hang in there and Keep the faith!!
