I hate to admit it now, but I didn't want a daughter
After our son was born, whenever we talked about another child, I was adamant that I only wanted boys. My daughter is now 2 and I could not imagine NOT having experienced raising a little girl. I love that she is so sweet and so devilish at the same time. She can be so girly and so tough all wrapped up in one. Case in point - she got angry at her brother, whacked him with a purse then said "I leaving!" When I asked her where she was going, her answer was "buy new shoes!"
I melt when she and I snuggle up at naptime and she stares into my eyes as she pets my face and hair with her dainty little hands........
I love that she wants us to dress alike and when we do, she says "like Mommy".
And best of all is when she comes to me out of the blue and says "mommy love Lexi, Lexi love Mommy".
Ahhhh, I guess I better tell my mother she was right...........I definitely needed a little girl!
