The Indian government agency called CARA -- for Central Adoption Resource Agency -- requires foreign prospective parents to use a CARA-accredited agency or government bureau in their home country.
The website of CARA lists the agencies accredited by CARA. Go to
http://www.cara.nic.in/carahome.html. Click on "Associated/Recognized Agencies". Then click on "Enlisted Foreign Agencies". Scroll down till you get to United Kingdom. The contact information for the British central adoption authority is listed.
