I'm not sure I understand this point: Are you asking about adopting through the state foster system in another state; or through another agency---privately---in another state?

If you are asking about the system: Yes, you can receive placements through other states, though, as the above poster states, you have to have an approved homestudy (and usually a foster care to adopt license in place as well).

If you are asking about private adoptions: Yes. We just did this ourselves, as a matter of fact. Again, most of the time, you have to have your homestudy; and in our state, you also have to have that approved license in order to 'cross state lines to adopt'. We just brought home another infant this month from a state quite a distance from here. However, we were interested in this particular state, because we have a lot of friends and family who reside there too (making the costs for staying there, much less expensive).

If you would like, I'd be glad to send to you my own list of adoption agencies I've done some investigating about. Many agencies need families who are wanting to adopt AA babies (as we were). Please PM me if this might help you.
