First of all, congratulations!

Our agency requires a 3 month wait after finalization of adoption. Now if we had other foster-to-adopt children already in the home at that time, I'm sure that would have been waived.

We are nearing the end of our 3 month break, and I have to say, I'm really glad we did it. We've had these kiddos in our home for 21 months, so it's not like they were new personalities to adjust to. However, it has given us time to gel as a family, take a couple of trips without notifying everyone in the Johnson County CPS office, and generally just enjoy each other.

I think you should do whatever you feel is right for your family. If you think it would be easier on your boys to do it now, go for it. If you think they would benefit from a little low-stress, family-bonding time, you could put it off for a couple of months.

Whatever your decision, I wish you the best.

We're considering getting back into Foster Care, just not sure if we are ready to deal with the system again...
