The article I was given was by Mark Paul and entitled "Jamestown 1619, Struggle for Voting Rights". I have no idea where/when it was published other than it says "U.S. History" in one corner. It also mentions that the Poles were Catholic. More errors in U.S. history!
The friend who shared it with me is from Virginia (now in Germany) and I'm sharing your reply with her.
