Any discussion, at all, regarding fee based adoption services - the service they provide, the level of care they offer, the amount of money they cost, the process involved, their abilities or ANYTHING...basically, if you're replying to a post with anything other than “I’ve PM’d you” or something similar...then it WILL violate our rules and you do risk becoming banned!
All responses to requests for feedback or assistance when it involves a FEE BASED ADOPTION SERVICE – whether that service is elective or required to complete your adoption – MUST be discussed via PM!
This includes but is not limited to:
Dossier Prep Services
Homestudy Providers
Background Check Expeditor's
Adoption Travel Agencies
Adoption Visa Agencies
Adoption Agencies
Third Party Attorneys who assist in your case
Fee based Searchers for Birthfamily contacts
Couriers who specialize in carrying packages for adoptive families
This rule does not apply to hotels, car rentals, airlines, major retailers and major travel agencies that don’t specialize in adoption travel.
Specific Organizations which are NOT allowed to be discussed openly on the forums but are constantly being edited because of violations are:
Velocity Tours – Trent or any variation
Adoption Supervisors – Both of them – including mentions of them by name/surname
We have worked VERY hard to try to make this forum an unbiased place for members to get the information they need. Members are welcome and encouraged to discuss fee based adoption services via PM. I have addressed the reasons behind this restriction a number of times and I even have a thread, open to discussion, on the Community Directors forum, which addresses not only this issue, but also invites members to respectfully ask questions and open a dialogue so members can understand that the reason for this rule is NOT to restrict your participation – but to ensure that members are getting accurate and good information, rather than being taken advantage of by unscrupulous adoption professionals.
