You should probably contact the adoption agency that handled your adoption and request "non-identifying" information about your birth parents. It will be very helpful in your search and give you a lot more information about your birth parents.


Iowa also has an open records policy so you should contact the agency and request a "confidential intermediary" search for your birth family. The agency will locate and contact the birth family to see if they would be interested in contact.
