Okay, I'm confused. We had to order our birth certificates from the county in which we were born. (From the county courthouse). Same thing with the marriage certificate. They are state of WI certificates, I think. Or am I really confused?

This is not necessarily correct. They have to be issued by the STATE - NOT the County that you lived in, which is what I did.
I thought if I ordered two originals from the County Health Department, I'd be good to go. Turns out I am not!
So, long story short, ALWAYS order copies of your birth certificates from the state, not the county.
This puts me another two to three weeks behind on getting our dossier completed. GRRRR!!!!
