Smile 8 Months

May 2005: Signed with agency
June 2005: Began homestudy
September 2005: We are presented with 2 situations, neither of which we can accept because our home study isn't finished (both babies were going to be born before the homestudy could be completed)
October 16, 2005: We match with a birthmom who is due in January
October 17, 2005: We have our last homestudy meeting
January 17, 2006: Jack is born!
January 20, 2006: We take Jack to our hotel, as we wait for the ICPC (Interstate Compact for Placement of Children) to be done
January 28, 2006: We take Jack home!

So, the short answer is: 8 months

Child #1: Is that your mother?
Child #2: Yes.
Child #1: Why is she white and you are black?
Child #2: Because I am adopted, and black people have more melanin than white people do.
Child #1: Oh, let's go on the high bars.
