HI!
That is not an easy question...since in Russia on Trip 1 most don't usually get that much time with their child, it does make it very different, and 30 days IS a long time.

I would first look at your home life, and how this would effect your boys. Remember, they are very attached and may be affected by your being away from them so long. So first, I would consider how THEY will be affected. IF you believe they will be ok, then I would consider staying in Kaz for that time. 2 or more weeks IS a long time to be with a child and then to leave them, especially if their orphanage staff does not give them a lot of attention. Could it affect attachment? I would think it could, especially in the early days...but I also think it is something could be overcome.

Something I am sure you have not thought much about...I know as a Mama you think of "Mama" last. But I will tell you, on trip 1 we only spent 1 hr with Hannah. But on trip 2, we spent a week. When we had to leave her town for 3 days for court and the paperwork delay, it was truly heart-wrenching. All I could do is picture Hannah standing there at the fence, looking for us to walk in so she could give us that brillant smile. And we didn't come..for 3 days. It seemed like forever. Every day I thoght "this is hurting my baby! She misses us...SHE NEEDS US!". Even though was so worried about the affects on her, it didn't seem to bother her in the least. Kids are resilient. Your daughter can hang in there if you need to go home.

Besides, if you think about it, leaving her in the orphanage for a little while is what is "normal" for her.

Sorry for the rambing...bottom line....take care of the "homefront" first. If everything seems in order, then I would stay. Or you may want to wait and see until you see what happens in Kaz.

One thing that is very exciting..THAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT TRAVELING SOON!! WOOO HOOO!!
