There are advantages for Colombian citizens, but these advantages do not appear to include liberalization of the rules applicable to single people.
However, at least one experienced agency states that rules may occasionally be waived for a person (of U.S. or Colombian nationality) who is willing to adopt a child with special needs or a sibling group.
